Todd Carville took office as Oneida County District Attorney on January 1, 2024, following his election in November 2023. As our D.A., Todd leads a team of prosecutors who work hard every day to make Oneida County safer.
A lifelong resident of Oneida County, Carville is a 20+ year veteran of the District Attorney’s Office. He joined the D.A.'s Office in 2003, initially handling traffic tickets and misdemeanor crimes. Over the years, he quickly rose through the ranks while prosecuting a variety of cases. He has handled over 1000 felony cases and countless lower level crimes, while taking 25 felony cases to trial and winning convictions in cases for murder, attempted murder, robbery, burglary, rape, gun crimes and more.
In addition to taking dangerous criminals off of our streets, Todd has also been a proponent of alternatives to incarceration when appropriate, including Drug Court, Veterans Diversion Court and other rehabilitation programs.
Beyond his exemplary professional qualifications, Carville has dedicated significant time giving back to our community. He has served as a coach for youth basketball and baseball for many years and as Parish Council President at St. Mark’s for the past 15 years.
Todd was born and raised in Utica as the 14th of 14 children. He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Colgate University and the Syracuse University College of Law and lives in Utica with his wife, Mary, an elementary school teacher, and their four children.
